Gemma Bemma

Gemma
Gemma is such a treasure! I think she would be a wonderful pup for somebody whose idea of exercise is walking around their neighborhood and visiting with folks. She is so responsive to people and looks you right in the eye. She is really smart, and if you have a treat, she will find it. She would definitely need someone who could keep her supplied with indestructible toys, but in return, she would be a wonderful, sweet companion.

Gemma is as sweet as cookies and cream — and has a lovely black-and-white coat to match! On her Fido Field Trip, she was super easy on the leash, and game for hiking despite the chill. When we stopped for a break (and to take a few photos), she was sure to speak up in a friendly way to let us know it was time to hit the trail again. She loved the tennis ball, but more to chew than to chase — we suspect chew toys just may be her love language! She did tire after about 2 miles of hilly hiking in the cold, so we drove her to Starbucks to warm up and relax with a Puppuccino, which she adored! My kids and I loved spending the afternoon with Gemma, and hope her fur-ever family finds this delightful girl soon!

Lovingly nicknamed “Gemma Bemma,” this lovely lady is an eight-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix. She’s a looker with her beautiful coat of black and white fur. Gemma is as sweet as can be, quite smart, and not afraid to use her heart-melting superpowers on you. She already has everyone at The Heritage Humane Society wrapped around her toes. Gemma is at the wonderful phase in a dog’s life where she is young enough to play and is always up for a walk, but she also loves the leisurely life of chilling at home. This sweet girl had to sadly be surrendered six months ago because her owner became ill and could no longer care for her.
