Taylor Saunders is a certified dog trainer working for Clever Critters and mentoring under owner and lead behavior consultant Sydney, since 2020. She has continued to enhance her knowledge of animal behavior by attending multiple conferences and obtaining additional certifications. Currently, she is working towards her behavior consultant certification to continue providing the best support for pets and their humans.

Class Descriptions

Companion Dog:
  • Companion Dog 2 builds off of the skills learned in Companion Dog 1. We’ll continue to work on teaching effective communication between you and your dog while progressing known skills and learning new ones. This course is intended for adult dogs, though adolescent dogs may attend. Skills include stationing, recall, loose leash walking, and more!
  • Minimum four dog and handler teams. Class size maximum of 6. 
    • Dogs 2+ years old. For adolescent dogs, registrants can reach out directly to Clever Critters to discuss if this class is the right fit for their needs.

Trick Training For Fun:
  • Trick Training for Fun is more than just teaching fun tricks to your dog. It is a great bonding experience, builds confidence, and teaches your dog body awareness, which is beneficial in many different situations. Trick Training for Fun is for any learning level. Handlers should be able to work with their dogs independently on skills. The instructor will provide one-on-one assistance with the trick you have chosen that best fits your dog’s abilities and desires. Tricks may include targeting, wave, spin and turn, rollover, and more!
  • Minimum four dog and handler teams. Class size maximum of 6. 
    • Dogs 6 months and older
Puppy Preschool:
  • Puppy Preschool is a great start to building a happy and healthy relationship with your new puppy! We will teach you and your puppies the foundation skills to help them navigate the human world. Throughout the course, we will be troubleshooting normal puppy behaviors like housetraining and mouthing and introduce the basics of how to teach your puppy what you want them to do. All skills will focus on your puppy’s abilities and emotional well-being. Skills include relaxation, independence, handling, recall, and, of course, how to appropriately socialize with dogs and people!
