FURever Homes Race 8K, 5K & Pet Run in Williamsburg, VA

Calling all animal lovers! Join the annual FURever Homes Race in Williamsburg, Virginia featuring an 8K race, 5K run/walk, and family-friendly pet run benefiting homeless animals at The Heritage Humane Society. Runners, walkers, families and dog lovers of all ages are invited to participate in this community charity race supporting animal rescue and adoption programs at Greater Williamsburg’s largest animal shelter.

About:

The 7th annual FURever Homes Race in Williamsburg, VA, is on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Jamestown High School. This Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event welcomes all ages and levels of runners and walkers. There will be paw-some community vendors, music, food, raffles, and more! Leashed dogs are welcome at the event and can participate with their humans in the 1-mile Fun Run and the 5K race along the Virginia Capital Trail.

All proceeds stay local and benefit the homeless pets at The Heritage Humane Society, helping grant second chances and hope for animals in need. Join the fun and register online today!

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for the sixth annual FURever Homes Race on Saturday, June 14, 2025!  Whether you walked, ran, volunteered, or cheered from afar, your support helped raise vital funds for the lifesaving programs and services at the Heritage Humane Society.

It was an incredible sight to see over 350 participants — both in person and virtually — coming together with their canine companions for this Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event, all in support of our homeless pets.

Because of you, our shelter pets will feel the impact of this race for months to come. Thank you for helping us give them the second chances they deserve!
