Programs & Services

We want to be your go-to place for all pet related inquiries and assistance!

Heritage Humane Society provides comprehensive services to pet owners from all over the City of Williamsburg, James City County, and York County District 1. We work to help thousands of animals—both at the Adoption Center and through outreach and rescue programs along the East Coast.

Our outreach programs and services provide support to those who need help caring for their pet both inside and outside of our jurisdiction. Pet food assistance and help with low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines are just a few of the resources available. We welcome you to learn more about the programs and services offered at the HHS!

Lost a pet

Step 1:

Fill out this Lost Pet Form >>

Step 2:

Post a Lost Pet Photo on as many social media sites as possible. Also post on your HOA sites, and email chains. This is the best way to spread the word!

Step 3:

LOST PET Signs around your neighborhood. This may seem “old school” but it really works. Trust us. Lost Pet Signs Save Lives.

Step 4:

Contact area veterinarians to let them know to keep any eye out for your lost pet. Ask if they have an email address you can submit a photo of your pet. Many times people will bring lost pets to vets to check for Microchips. Be sure you leave your contact information, and details about your pet (collars, distinct markings…)
