Heritage Humane Society strives to create and support a lifelong bond between pets and their people. We believe in positive, reward-based training that strengthens the human/animal bond and builds trust between people and their pets.

Research shows that behavior issues are among the most common reasons pets are relinquished to animal shelters. We are working to change that.

It continues with our positive, conversation-based adoption process designed to help you find the pet that’s best for your personality, lifestyle and needs.

Our support continues even after adoption when we provide follow up, information and resources.

Positive Alternatives to Surrendering a Pet

Military Service Members: You Have A Choice!
Dogs on Deployment
Guardian Angels for Solider’s Pets

Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pets specifically formed to support deploying heroes, veterans, and their pets when there is no other option except the uncertain future of shelter placement. The tragic dilemma of literally thousands of pets being abandoned due to hardship circumstances is a reality that needs a solution and this is the mission of GASP.

Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pets has a very special foster program across the nation. How do they do it? Through selfless volunteers who open their hearts and homes in support of our heroes with hardships so when you come home, your “best friend” will be waiting for you. Our Guardian Angels are carefully selected and we assess each foster need personally, inspect, certify and monitor potential foster families and match pets across the nation, providing financial help in any area of your pet’s transportation, food or maintenance if necessary.

Net For Pets

Net Pets is a nation-wide & global network of individual foster homes that will house, nurture and care for dogs, cats, birds, horses and all other pets for Military personnel while they are deployed.

NetPets.org was created to be the liaison between those of you who have to have your beloved pets fostered and the foster homes all over this country. The actual fostering is a free service. Any veterinary expenses, pharmacy, foods and other extraordinary expense of this type will, of course, be your responsibility. All members & volunteers, salute you for protecting our country and keeping us safe & secure. It is our hope, that this program which we have created, will be able to remove all concerns about your pets welfare for the duration of your tour.
