Jenny comes to us with a unique combination of skills, offering a background in animal training, marketing, and executive leadership in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. As a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Psychology, she spent 17 years in San Diego pursuing her dream as a marine mammal trainer for the US Navy’s Marine Mammal program. When it was time to hang up her dolphin whistle, she spent the next decade as the Director of Operations for the Federal Acquisition Certification Academy, a multimillion-dollar business which provided program and project management training for government agencies. She then moved on to her role as the Global Operations Manager for Soaring Spirits International, a nonprofit that provides peer based programs and resources for those who are widowed. You may recognize her from her most recent stint as Events Coordinator and “Beerista” at Frothy Moon Brewhouse where she likely served you a delicious coffee or beer while helping to expand the internal and external events at the local brewery. As our new Marketing and Communications Director, Jenny is excited to be back in an animal-focused field where she can put her creativity, marketing, and leadership skills to use in support of the Humane Society’s pets and programs.
