Kimberly Laska, CAWA

Executive Director

Kimberly Laska, CAWA
Kimberly has served as the Executive Director of The Heritage Humane Society, Greater Williamsburg’s largest animal shelter, since 2012. Her journey with the shelter began when she adopted her cat, Cherokee. Inspired by the shelter’s dedicated staff and volunteers, she quickly became a passionate advocate for its mission to provide positive outcomes for the most vulnerable and voiceless animals in the community she loves.
Kimberly brings a wealth of experience in business, marketing, fundraising, education and outreach. Before joining The Heritage Humane Society, she held key roles at Avalon: A Center for Women and Children, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys, among others. She credits each of these experiences with preparing her for her leadership role at the shelter, calling it her professional “home.”
In 2016, Kimberly’s family grew when she adopted her shelter dog, Lexi, who quickly became the missing piece in her life. Under Kimberly’s leadership, The Heritage Humane Society has strengthened its team of compassionate and skilled professionals, expanded and upgraded its facilities, built strong partnerships and enhanced its role as a vital community resource for the Greater Williamsburg area.
