Senior Director of Medical and Animal Care

Sherrie Pride, LVT
Sherrie Pride brings extensive experience—as well as a passion for working with people and pets—to her position as Senior Director of Medical and Animal Care at The Heritage Humane Society (HHS). She started working in the veterinarian field in 1999 as a kennel assistant and worked her way up through all of the positions. She became licensed after completing AAHA’s program through Cedar Valley College in 2007. She quickly found her passion in shelter medicine while working at another non-profit shelter as well as in orthopedic surgery at a local practice. After several mission trips to Tanzania, Africa to vaccinate with Mission Rabies, she knew she was meant to work with rescues/non-profits and those less fortunate.
“I became familiar with HHS about 7 years ago after fostering a kitten that was injured and subsequently adopted him. I had the pleasure of working with HHS at many Veterinary Clinics and always enjoyed and respected their mission and presence in the community. The most respected part for me is that HHS is more than a shelter. We do whatever we can to keep a pet in the home. Whether it’s helping with food or with training an adopted dog.”
