Adoptable shelter pets of the week

The Heritage Humane Society has more than 100 adoptable catsdogs, and small pets hoping to find their forever families. Meet two of the shelter pets who are ready to be adopted:
Summer. Speaking of summer Animal Camps – there is a senior stunner at The Heritage Humane Society named, wait for it…Summer! She is an eleven-year-old kitty and her front paws are declawed. Sadly, her previous owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness and is unable to care for her any longer so Summer is looking for the security of another family. She enjoys normal senior pastimes such as gazing out of the window for bird watching, doing crossword puzzles, and socializing with her people. Summer does not enjoy the company of other cats and needs to be the only cat in the home. Spring, fall, winter – don’t wait it’s Summer time now!

Evie. Evie has been in a loving foster home for the past few weeks. Here is what her foster mom has to say about this lovely lady, “Evie is an exceptional lady that would love to find her forever home! She is incredibly sweet, loving, and well-behaved! When she realizes we’re about to go on an adventure and starts happy prancing, so cute! This beautiful lady has the most amazing ears and a side eye to beat all other side eyes (in the kindest and funny way!) She is a mature lady and knows what she needs from moment to moment. I work from home and most of the time she is curled up on her bed next to my desk, patiently waiting for me to finish up so we can go for a nice walk. If I end up working late, she very cutely reminds me to have some work-life balance and get outside for some fresh air. Sometimes she takes some time to herself and will nap in the other room while I’m working, always by the sliding glass door so she can watch what’s going on outside. She is completely housebroken, not at all food or toy aggressive, and just a wonderful girl.”

Summer, Evie and the other adoptable pets are available during The Heritage Humane Society’s visiting and adopting hours from 12 to 4:30 p.m., Tues. through Sun.
