Join the Movement & Give Back!
A Letter from Executive Director, Kimberly Laska
I want to update you on how things are going at Heritage Humane Society. Despite the pandemic, we are managing well as are all the pets in our care. We have adjusted to appointment-based scheduling and many pets are still finding their new homes much as they did before. We have adjusted some of our priorities so that we can provide resources and care for the community’s pets and the people that love them. All of this is made possible with your generosity and support.
The toughest adjustment for us has been the inability to hold our usual fundraising and off-site events. As you can imagine, online events do not bring in nearly the same amount of revenue as those that are held in person. We are doing a major push on Giving Tuesday in an attempt to off-set the loss of our annual golf tournament and the need to move our Holiday Bazaar to an on-line event.

Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and communities in the U.S. and in countries around the world. It harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities and give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in.
This year, we are asking you to consider making a donation to support the homeless pets in our community on December 1 so it can go twice as far. The Jimmy Maloney Foundation and other generous donors are offering a $20,000 gift match. Will you help us reach this match? You can make a donation online or swing by the shelter between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to donate in person. Our staff members and volunteers are here 7 days a week, 365 days a year, caring for homeless animals and we are ready to accept your donation!
