It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s the HHS Rescue Wagon

For animals in crisis, it’s all about our ability to go to them and remove them from whatever situation is threatening their lives.

We believe no animal should die simply because we can not get to them in time. No animal should suffer simply because we cannot be there when they need us most.

Heritage Humane Society staff is on the road 5 days a week transporting animals in need of urgent medical attention, and providing support to local pet-owners in need.

Maggie, a hurricane survivor was transferred to HHS when a shelter was running out of time and space.

We asked and you (our community) answered! Donations toward the Rescue Wagon were immediately put to work. And are allowing us us to be there when the animals need us most. Innocent, homeless pets running out of time and space in rural shelters across VA are getting their second chances, now that we have the ability to transfer them to Williamsburg.

Heritage Humane Society (HHS) is a local, independent, open-admission shelter that receives more than 93% of its funding through private donations.

Thank you to our sponsors that made this opportunity possible. We couldn’t do it without your support:
