Pups, kitties, rabbits, hamsters, and yes, even their human companions have many gift options to discover at the ReTAIL Store at The Heritage Humane Society. All proceeds are kept right in the Greater Williamsburg community to help the shelter’s homeless pets.

Do you miss brick and mortar shopping?

As a part of The Heritage Humane Society’s expansion during the past year, its new lobby doubles as its ReTAIL Store. Shoppers are invited to peruse the merchandise any day of the week, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. The ReTAIL Store is open from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm daily, except on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when it closes at 3 pm, and the ReTAIL Store is completely close on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The shelter is located at 430 Waller Mill Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.

One of the ReTAIL Store’s biggest sellers is the new Neuter Nuts. A witty collaboration with Virginia Diner, 18 oz. tins of Neuter Nuts are gourmet salted Virginia peanuts. All proceeds benefit The Heritage Humane Society Spay and Neuter Fund. Considering that in just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens, the sales of Neuter Nuts benefit animal and community welfare throughout Greater Williamsburg.

The ReTAIL Store is brimming with pet supplies, treats, toys, collars, leashes and resources for pets. Festive fun t-shirts featuring “Furry & Bright,” hoodies emblazoned with “Shelter Pets Cuddle Better,” and crewnecks sporting “My Best Friends has Paws,” are part of the heartwarming, newly released line of apparel at the shelter.

For the holidays, there the shelter’s 2022 keepsake ornament. The round design is engraved and finished with a red ribbon – a standout on any pet lover’s tree or holiday décor.

Just in time for pipping hot holiday drinks, Heritage Humane Society-logoed, reusable tumblers are just in. The 20 oz., double-walled construction insulates hot or cold liquids. Complete with a snap-on lid with spill-resistant thumb slide, the cup is available in orange, blue, or gray.

Shoppers looking for a reusable tote for their purchases – or even to use as a gift bag for a fellow animal lover — can select from four different color options. Made of water-resistant material, the front sports, “Home is where someone runs to greet you.” For purchases of $25 or more, shoppers will receive a tote for free.

A gift card like no other

Holiday sponsorship cards are a way to gift someone with the joy of providing care in their name for shelter pets. Available in three new designs featuring shelter pets, this gift starts at $20 with the donation going towards the care costs such as food or health needs shelters pets. With almost 300 dogs, cats, and more at the shelter hoping for a forever home, these donations can be life changing for both the adopter and adoptee. Sponsorship cards can be purchased in person or online. Each can be personalized for the recipient or in honor of or memory of a family pet.

 

Feeling lucky?

There are many dogs, cats, and small pets at The Heritage Humane Society whose holiday wish is to be adopted. During the holiday season while supplies last, new adopters will also receive a special Heritage Humane Society holiday scratcher. When they scratch it off, a shopping discount will be revealed for any purchase they make the day of adoption at the ReTAIL Store.
