The Heritage Humane Society welcomes shoppers who want to shop from the comfort of their home and help their hometown at the same time. The Heritage Humane Society’s third annual Spring in Bloom Online Auction is happening now to help homeless pets.

Spring in Bloom Online Auction now open for bidding

The Spring in Bloom Online Auction is a treasured event this time each year throughout the community. It is the largest online auction where proceeds benefit the homeless pets of The Heritage Humane Society.
Auction items include fine wine, gift cards, gift baskets, cherished collectibles, home décor, jewelry, experiences, and of course, pet items. A sampling of themed gift baskets, all donated by their respective businesses, includes:
  • Visit Williamsburg Basket. This basket celebrates Virginia’s signature hospitality. Donated by Visit Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Visitors Guide, the winning bidder will receive a generous mix of dining gift cards, Kings Dominion tickets, wine, an escape room experience, pottery painting session, mini golf admission, handcrafted mug, tote bag, candle, and coffee all in a convenient tote bag.

  • Two passes to Williamsburg Live 2023. Hey music lovers! Get ready to get into the “Danger Zone” with two-time Grammy Award Winner Kenny Loggins (oh, hello, Top Gun theme song!), tap your toes with the “masters of soulful folk” The Wood Brothers and sing the blues with five-time Grammy Award Winner Keb’ Mo’. This auction item includes two passes for the lawn to the Virginia Art Festival’s Williamsburg Live June 16 – 18. Passes are donated by the Virginia Arts Festival.

  • The Wagster’s Magic Theatre Show. With a wave of the wand, the whole family can say “abracadabra” in unison while being amazed at The Wagster’s Magic Theatre Show. This auction item includes tickets for two adults and two children (up to age 12) for the magic and wonder at Williamsburg’s only professional magic show. Tickets (and lots of “How did the do it?” moments) are provided by The Wagster’s Magic Theatre Show.
  • Sunset on the James River. Set sail for fun and adventure on the James River. Raise the sails and take the tiller of Genesis, a Hunter 240 compact cruiser helmed by David Chin, a US Sailing Certified Instructor. Three hours of gliding along the water for up to four people, being served light refreshments and drinks, and having the experience digitally captured for a lifetime of memories is included by Virginia Maritime Ministries.
Winning bidders will be notified by email when the auction concludes at 7 p.m. on Sun., Apr. 23. They can pick up their items at The Heritage Humane Society on Wed., Apr. 26 from 1 – 6 p.m. Tents will be set up outside the Adoption Center and winners can either park and come to the tents or simply drive up and pick up their winnings from their car.
Spring in Bloom Online Auction is now in its third year. The Heritage Humane Society Auxiliary volunteers organized this event and is always open to new members.
“Each year this Spring in Bloom Online Auction lets people bid from the comfort of their homes for a wide variety of gifts and experiences generously donated from local people, organizations and businesses with the goal of raising funds for all of the homeless pets of The Heritage Humane Society,” shares Denise Jenks, HHS Auxiliary Vice President and event chairperson.
“The Spring in Bloom Online Auction has become an exciting annual community event where winning bidders enjoy wonderful items and our shelter pets benefit thanks to the hard work and creativity of the HHS Auxiliary volunteers and outpouring of local entities,” says Kimberly Laska, CAWA, Executive Director of The Heritage Humane Society.
