We have two very exciting announcements to make today! The first is something we have been waiting close to two years to say…Are you ready for it?…

We are once again OPEN to the public!! That’s right, we are welcoming back our pet-loving visitors! You no longer need an appointment to come to meet the pets in our care.

Our Adoption Center has been appointment-only since March 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and because our facility was under construction for most of 2021. We are happy to welcome our visitors back starting today. Come visit our cat areas, meet small critters, and learn about the many adoptable dogs in our care. We still encourage our potential adopters to visit our website before coming to visit to learn about our adoptable pets – www.heritagehumane.org/adopt. Our open hours will be 12 PM – 4:30 PM daily. 

Our second announcement is that we have a brand new Retail Store in our main lobby sponsored by Chesapeake Bank. We have paw-some pet toys, treats, and supplies for dogs, cats, and small critters, plus apparel for our two-legged humans. What makes shopping at HHS even sweeter? All proceeds benefit our shelter! That’s right, when you shop here you are supporting our lifesaving mission. Come shop and visit the pets in our care.
